Tiyo Ardianto: Don't let your fate be the same as Munir's - Beware
Munir Said Thalib, the founder of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), died of arsenic poisoning on a flight to Amsterdam on September 7, 2004, when the Republic of Indonesia was led by Megawati Soekarnoputri as President of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and Hamzah Haz as Vice President of the United Development Party (PPP).
Tiyo Ardianto is the former Chair of the Student Executive Board of Gadjah Mada University (BEM UGM) class of 2025, originally from Kudus, Central Java. He is a student in the Faculty of Philosophy class of 2021. He does not come from a family of officials or a political dynasty, but rather from an ordinary family where he received non-formal education and graduated through the Package C equivalency program.
